Cholla 8th grade promotion update

Per district policy, all middle schools will have a promotion recognition ceremony.  Cholla will be recognizing all 8th grade students who have met the criteria for participating in the promotion recognition ceremony. 

Our promotion requirements are as follows:

Promotion Criteria

A student in the eighth grade must earn a D (1.0) average in each of the academic classes (Math, ELA, Science, and Social Studies) in order to participate and receive a promotion certificate. 

If an eighth grade student has not met the above requirements, he or she will not qualify to participate in the recognition ceremony. The eighth grade recognition ceremonies will take place on Monday evening, May 20 at the Moon Valley High School Auditorium located at 3625 West Cactus Road. There will be two ceremonies, one at 5:00 p.m. and second starting at 6:15 p.m.

Parking is available by the football field as well on the east side of their campus. Cactus Park also has additional parking.  Please know that Moon Valley High School does not allow food or drinks in their auditorium.  In addition, for safety reasons, balloons are not allowed in the auditorium as well. (If one accidently gets released it could set off the fire alarms.)

Lastly, a notice will be sent home with your child tomorrow in regards to this information.
Please complete the bottom portion of that letter indicating how many tickets your family will be needing.
Have your child return the bottom portion to the front office by Friday, April 26.
